POONCH, Nov 5: Principal District and Sessions Judge Poonch, Ashok Kumar Shavan has awarded 10 years imprisonment to three women among four persons for committing culpable homicide.
The convicts, identified as Roshan Din and his wife Nazira Bi, Sona Bi, wife of Hakam Din and Safia Bi, wife of Nazam Din, all residents of Hari, in Surankote were involved in murderous assault on one Mohd Sharief, son of Mohd Hussain, who succumbed to the injuries on March 17, 2008. A case under FIR number 14/2008 was registered in this connection at Police Station Surankote and after investigation, the offence under sections 302/109/RPC was converted into 304-II of IPC against the accused persons.
Charge sheet was filed on 20-02-2013 and the court held all the accused persons guilty. All the accused were awarded ten years imprisonment besides fine to the tune of Rs 5000 to Roshan din and his wife Nazira Bi.
Maqbool Hussain was Public Prosecutor for U T and Advocate Shokat Amin Manhas appeared on behalf of the accused persons.
