SOPORE/RAFIABAD, Nov 6: Former minister and senior J&K People’s Conference leader, Abdul Gani Vakil today claimed that the Back to Village (B2V) programme of the Government is a failure and does nothing except disruption in Government machinery that further aggravates miseries of the people as Government offices are totally closed and none remains there to address problems of common man.
Vakil said that the B2V programme is very much active on Twitter and Facebook to score points, while on ground it has turned into a crude joke and is a mere eyewash that has failed in addressing and assessing the specific economic potential and the needs of the villages which has been observed in the past three phases of B2V programme.
“Only macadamisation of few roads is visible on ground which the R&B Department has been doing,” Vakil said, adding that the claim of the Government regarding rural development is only restricted to statements and meetings. The former minister said unfortunately, there has been no follow up to the earlier B2V exercises which has rendered this new phase of B2V a sheer mockery.
Vakil visited several villages of Rafiabad and Sopore and was accompanied by senior leaders, DDC Chairman, Ghulam Mohammed Mir, Sarpanch, Tariq Ahmed Mir, Sarpanch, Ghulam Hassan War and Hakim Mohammed Altaf.
