SRINAGAR, Nov 6: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) organized two significant programs as part of its flagship community and industrial outreach initiatives to further its efforts to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and community.
The spokesperson of the university said that two such events were organized this week that includes a workshop on modern learning and Arabic speaking skills for Oriental Islamic Centers and a special session on “Insights on Novel Product Development’ under Industry-Outreach.
Manoj Pareek, Head R&D (Health Food and Drink Category) and R&D Lead Site, Hindustan Unilever Limited, Gurugram, was the primary speaker on novel product development. Pareek focused on the Global Trends for Food in 2023, which include health and well-being, nutrition quality, eco-friendly food, and sustainable food while highlighting the requirement for creative research.
Prof. Lily Want (Dean Outreach at IUST) stated that “CSR (corporate social responsibility) bears economic as well as ethical qualities.” Lily praised the university for its innovative efforts to help students get jobs, expose them to in-demand technical and professional skills for a variety of industries, and assist them in finding employment opportunities that align with their career goals.
Meanwhile, Shazana Andrabi (IUST Coordinator, Community Connect) encouraged participants to explore more opportunities to improve their language competence and other communication skills, as it can help them to communicate more efficiently.
