Samba police rescues 26 bovines, arrests 2 smugglers

SAMBA, Nov, 8: District Police Samba successfully foiled two attempts to smuggle bovines by rescuing 26 animals in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba.
A police party of Naka Nud in Samba district while performing vehicle checking duty intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number, JK02AP/8887.
During checking of the vehicle, 12 cattle were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission.
The accused driver identified as Yaqoob Hussain, son of Mohammad Aslam of Bagyal Dara tehsil, Haveli district Poonch, along with his associate namely Mohammad Mushtaq, son of Abdul Rahim of Talwara tehsil and district Reasi have been arrested on spot. The vehicle used in this crime was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 268/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
Similarly, a police party of PP Mansar rescued 14 more bovines at Naka Mansar which were being transported illegally in a truck bearing Registration Number UP11AT/9657.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 269/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
All the bovines rescued and have been shifted to safer place. The vehicles used for transportation also seized.
