SRINAGAR, Nov 9: Chairman JK Peoples Democratic Front (JKPDF) and former minister Hakeem Yaseen has sought personal intervention of Home Minister, Amit Shah to ensure implementation of various assurances given to the people of Jammu and Kashmir about their socio-political emancipation adding that the bureaucracy was totally non- serious towards bridging the gaps between people and the Centre.
Yaseen said despite many promises made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for socio- political transformation of J&K, nothing has fructified and visible on ground. Need of the hour is to fulfil all the promises made to the people here.
Speaking to PDF workers from Kachwari Khansahib in Budgam today, Hakeem Yaseen urged Home Minister to personally oversee implementation of various promises made to the people of J&K about their socio-political emancipation adding that in absence of a civilian government, bureaucracy seems to be non- serious to meet the aspirations of the people.
He said slogans of PM Modi about removing “Dil Ki Doori and Dilli say Doori ” and the promise made by Home Minister about restoration of statehood needs to be given a practical shape without any delay.
PDF Chairman strongly pleaded for holding early assembly elections in J&K. He said there was an urgent need to establish an elected civilian government here so that elected public representatives could take responsibility to redress peoples grievances and meet their aspirations.
“The sooner, statehood is restored and assembly elections held in J&K, the better it would be in the larger interests of the country and people of Jammu and Kashmir,” PDF Chairman observed.
He said disadvantageous location, where industries and private sectors were almost non existent, there was an urgent need to earmark special job package for the youth so that they could be protected from the destruction of drug menace and exploitation by the enemies of peace.
