SRINAGAR, Oct 13: The mother of slain Jamiat-e-Ahle Hadith (JeH) leader Maulana Shoukat Shah today criticised hardline Hurriyat Conference leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani for reportedly demanding release of her son’s alleged killers.
Shah’s mother, Ameena, expressed astonishment over the press statements by some outfits including that of Geelani, “who are time and again issuing statements in favour of the killers” of her son.
She cited Geelani’s statement published in newspapers of the State today, in which “Geelani Sahib has mixed the name of two killers — Javed Munshi alias Billa Papa and Nisar Khan — among the names of some prisoners and called for their early release”.
Shah was killed in an explosion at Maisuma in August 2011 while he was entering a mosque for leading Friday prayers.
Police had arrested several persons in connection with the murder, including Khan and Munshi. (PTI)
