Soz, Shabir visit several hospitals

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: Former Union Minister and president Pradesh Congress Committee Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz accompanied by Minister incharge Health Shabir Ahmed Khan visited several hospitals in Kashmir valley and reviewed the functioning and took stock of the facilities there for the public.
They paid visit to hospitals at Khanmoh, Brain Nishal, Arabal (Shalimar), Shanpora Habak, Hazratbal, Sangam  (Iddgah) Palpora and Alamgari Bazar (Zadibal)  here today. People in large number met Prof Soz and Shabir Khan and explained their problems for early resolution.
The Minister assured the people that in all these hospitals requirements regarding rationalization, removal of deficiencies, provision of paramedical staff, up-gradation and provision of adequate staff will be ensured. At Sangam the Health Minister issued orders for the handing over the building by the PWD to the Directorate of Health Kashmir within a month.
At Hazratbal, Prof Soz was requested by the people to visit Shanpora and Habbak where he assured the people that he would try his best to persuade the Department of Urban Development and R&B to construct a foot bridge  and provide road on both sides. Prof Soz also requested the Health Minister to upgrade the sub-centre at Shanpora.
Later, accompanied by Mr Khan, the PCC chief visited Alamgari Bazaar where people in large number extended him gratitude for his efforts  in respect of completion of shrine of Mir Sham-us-Din Iraqi and providing Rs 11 lakh for construction of building  to serve as new type health centre at Alamgari Bazar. Prof Soz noted the difficulties of drinking water from Khanmoh  to Sangam and assured them that he would ask PHE Minister to fulfill the requirements.
Chairperson Social Welfare Board Khem Lata Wakhloo, Vice president Mahila Congress Shamima Raina and District Congress president Abdul Ghani Khan also accompanied Prof Soz.
