Sir,
Department of Posts has, as per reports, received proposal from the Transport Commissioner’s office to deliver driving licences by post to the people for their convenience. It is a welcome step as it would save peoples’ time, money and botherations. There are many other steps which are required to be taken up by the office of the RTO to issue DLs, renewals and registrations, cancelling of hire purchase clauses on repaying of loans and other documents to the concerned people in a time bound period which should be properly notified. It is an admitted fact that lot of criticism and adverse comments have been made by many applicants in respect of the functioning of the RTO’s office. Also there have been some instances of fake licences, illegal gratification to get papers issued from the department and other complaints which need to be examined and resolved. At the outset, delivering of driving licenses at the doors of the applicants by post is a solid step taken to mitigate their difficulties.
Yours etc…
