SUNDERBANI, Nov 11: Former MLC and senior JKPCC leader Ravinder Sharma has lashed out at the BJP Government for stopping benefits of Kissan Nidhi Scheme to the farmers who have no lands in their ownership.
Criticising the anti- farmers decision of BJP Government, Sharma said that BJP has snatched agriculture lands from poor , landless and small farmers tilling the same for decades besides the most deserving section of poor farmers will be deprived of the small benefits of 6000 per year. The poor farmers who are in occupation of state or evacuee lands for decades and tilling the same but not conferred ownership/occupancy rights, shall be most sufferers.
Senior Congress leader termed the new condition as anti- poorer section of farmers who will be deprived of the meagre benefits being landless. They are more deserving category of farmers but government has stopped benefits to them putting conditions of ownership or recorded rights.
He said previous governments conferred rights to tillers and occupants agriculturists but BJP government erased their Girdawries and deprived them of benefits and rights, rendering thousands of farmers as landless.
He demanded review of the decision besides conferring rights of occupation for long durations over agriculture lands as per scales to small and marginal farmers.
Against the promise of doubling their income by this year 2022, Modi Government has snatched the rights of farmers and deprived them of benefits available to them and live under fear of evictions from lands from their forefathers.
