Night temps plummet due to dry weather

Srinagar, Nov 11 : Amid forecast of weather conditions, mercury plummeted in Kashmir with the Pahalgam recording a low of minus 4.2°C  today.
A meteorological department official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 3.°C against 4.7°C the previous night. The temperature was 1.8°C above normal for the city during this time of the year.
Qazigund recorded a low of 2.2°C against 5.0°C the previous night. The temperature was 0.3°C above normal for the town.
In Pahalgam, the mercury settled at minus 4.2°C against 2.8°C the previous night and it was 3.1°C below normal for the resort.
Kokernag recorded a low of 2.4°C against 3.7°C the previous night and it was 0.3°C below normal for the place.
Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 3.2°C against 2.0°C the previous night and it was 3.4°C below normal for the skiing resort.
In Kupwara town, the mercury settled at minus 0.6°C against 3.0°C the previous night. It was 1.9°C below normal for the place.
Mercury settled at minus 4.3°C in Kargil, Leh saw a low of minus 7.8°C and Drass recorded minimum of minus 8.8°C.
The weatherman forecast mainly dry weather on till Sunday and scattered light rain or snow (upper reaches) and thunders on November 13 and 14.
