Bhalla demands restoring old pension scheme for employees

JAMMU, Nov 12: JKPCC working president Raman Bhalla today joined protesting Railway employees at Jammu Railway Station who are staging protest demonstrations under the aegis of Northern Railwaymen’s Union demanding restoration of old pension scheme, prohibition of privatization and corporatization, filling of vacant posts, completion of cadre restructuring work and giving promotion avenues to Railway employees.
The employees have warned that if their 11-point demands are not met soon, then Railway employees across the country will go on a nationwide agitation, the responsibility of which will be on the Ministry of Railways and the Government of India. They briefed former minister that on the call of All India Railwaymen’s Federation, Railway employees across the country are protesting against their long standing demands but the Railway Ministry and the Government of India are not taking the demands of seriously.
Addressing the employees, Bhalla slammed Government’s arrogant behaviour, adding the ruling Government at the Centre has attained expertise in making big claims but on ground its performance is dismal with people suffering on all counts as civic edifice, healthcare, education, employment, tourism, businesses are all passing through an abysmal phase. He said that the people of the country have made a big mistake by voting to power the BJP and the need of the time is to root it out as soon as possible and install Congress Government to ensure good governance in the country.
Bhalla observed that Govt instead of addressing public issues particularly working class has come out with unique solution of making availability of beer and other beverages in provision stores which is going to have an adverse impact on the young minds who are already struggling amidst frustration due to unemployment. He said that as of today unemployment is at peak in J&K which is evident from the fact that J&K has the highest unemployment in the country. He said that the people of J&K are fed-up of series of lies and false promises made by the BJP leadership in the Union Territory.
