JAMMU, Oct 14: The Food Craft Institute (FCI) Jammu in collaboration with INTACH Jammu chapter organized an Ethnic Food Competition for the students of GCW, Gandhi Nagar, GCW Parade, Jammu and FCI, Jammu.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu was the chief guest while Director Tourism, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The objective of the programme was to provide an opportunity to students share new experiences and enhance their cooking skills.
The competition was judged by a team of experts and senior faculty members besides professionals in the industry.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Food Craft Institute Jammu is imparting training in the fields of food production, Food & Beverage Service, Housekeeping, Bakery & Patisserie at Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar Jammu since 2009 enabling the trainees get placements in hotels and hospitality industry.
The trainings centers of the Institute are located in Katra, Reasi, Basohli, Bhaderwah and Rajouri.
All the students were given certificate of appreciation.
The team of Food Craft Institute Jammu won the competition while GCW Parade Ground remained the runner up team.
The students were also given gift hampers prepared by students of FCI Jammu showing their catering skills in the field of bakery.
Convenor INTACH Jammu, S M Sahini, Deputy Director Tourism Jammu, Kanta Devi Rakwal, faculty members of GCW Parade Ground as well as GCW Gandhi Nagar, Vice President HRA Jammu, Kuldeep Wahi and Principal Food Craft Institute Jammu Jyoti Bhatti besides students and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
