Hr Edu being developed, upgraded on modern technological trends: Lone

PULWAMA, Oct 14: Saying that Government has taken development and upgradation of higher education system on war footing basis, Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone said that to provide higher education to the students of the State on the pattern of modern technological trends and ensuring quality education system no stone will be unturned. Adding that revolutionary steps have been initiated by the Government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in this regard
The Minister said this during his visit to Government Degree College Pulwama today.
On the occasion, Mr. Lone laid foundation of Library-cum-Lecture block and College Auditorium being constructed at a cost of Rs 4.30 crore and Rs 4.39 crore respectively.
The Minister also inaugurated J&K Bank ATM facility center for the college which is first of its kind in any Government Degree College. He also inaugurated UGC, Network Resource Center and Gymnasium Center for the College.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lone said that Government is developing higher education setup across the State on war footings so that students are enlightened with the light of  higher education so that they are able to prove themselves at national and international competitions besides lead the State to new heights of excellence. He said infrastructure is being developed with all such facilities which are required by the students.
Mr. Lone emphasized upon the faculty members of the college to deliver their best to the students and exploit talent and experience by adapting modern teaching methods so that the students of the area are benefitted.
The Minister underscored the importance of higher education and said in present era it is the right of every youth to get acquainted with the higher education so that they are able to adjust themselves in modern society besides led the nation towards new path of development and prosperity.
Later, the Minister released college newsletter the “Romesh” and distributes medals, trophies and certificates among the pass out students of the college who have shown meritorious score in the results.
District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Manzor Ahmad Lone, Director College, Dr. Tariq Kawsooa and Principal of the college Prof. Mushtaq Ali Mir were present on the occasion.
