JAMMU, Nov 13: Gharota Police arrested two youth for threatening and allegedly raping a minor girl.
As per police sources, On November 11 this year a complaint was lodged by a woman with Police Station Gharota stating that two youth identified as Shamma, son of Rashid and Ashwani, son of Chuni Lal, both residents of Chakkar stopped the way of her 14-year-old daughter and beat her up.
“The youth also took turns to rape my daughter by taking her to nearby fields. They also threatened her of dire consequences if she narrated the ordeal to anyone” the complainant said.
Acting over the complaint, a case FIR Number 120/2022 under sections 376-D, 341, 323 and 506 IPC and 3/4 POCSO Act has been registered at Police Station Gharota and hunt has been launched to nab the accused persons.
On specific information, a team from Police Station Gharota led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh Chib under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal nabbed the alleged rapist from a hideout.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
