Army organises national tour for Kashmiri youths

UDHAMPUR, Oct 14:  It was a dream come true for 25 Kashmiri youths when they had the first glimpse of the train on Udhampur Railway Station as part of an education and motivational tour to Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The educational tour under Sadbhavana comprising 25 students and two teachers from remote area of Kupwara district was flagged off on October 12,  2013 from Tangdhar amidst great fanfare. The HQ Northern Command officials received the tour at Udhampur. During interaction with army officials the youth were excited and wanted to know everything that awaits them in the journey ahead.
The tour spanning 12 days and bearing the moto “Igniting Young Minds” is aimed at acquainting the young students to the rich and diverse cultural heritage, economic growth and secular nature of our country.
The students will visit places of cultural, educational, economic and historical interest in the cities of Hyderabad and Bangalore. The students will observe the great strides our country had taken, culturally and economically.
Earlier in Tangdhar, during the flagging off ceremony,  Kafil-Ur-Rehman MLA Karnah and  Abdul Rashid Bhatt, Tehsildar Karnah, expressed that “It was really heartening to see that Indian Army has made such efforts for better future of their children”, and were confident that the tour will be a life time experience for the students and will motivate them towards building a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir in days to come.
