JAMMU, Oct 14: The idols of Lord Hanuman, Maa Kali and Shani Dev were installed in Shiv Mandir at Dogra Hall here at a grand religious function held in temple premises.
The idols were installed by Narsingh Dass Rajwal, BJP Anusuchit Jaati Morcha State prabhari and ex Corporator, in presence of a large number of devotees, senior citizens including the office bearers of the Mandir Committee.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the Shiv Mandir is one of the ancient temples in Jammu and people have lot of faith in it.
A hawan was also performed on the occasion for consecration of the idols before their installation on the sanctum sanctorum. The function was followed by a community Bhoj in which a large number of devotees from all sections of society took part.
Mr Rajwal, while speaking on the occasion said the Shiv Mandir has an ancient history and it is revered by people across all sections of the society. He said the idols symbolize true glory of Almighty and also absolute supremacy of Shakti the destroyer of evil.
A Committee consisting of Arun Rajwal, Vaishno Dutt, Ashok Kumar Lakhotra, Rakesh Rajwal, Madan Lal, Pardeep Kumar, Raghubir Kumar, Bodh Raj, Neeraj Kumar, Ranjit Kumar and Sheru was constituted by Mr Rajwal to supervise the construction of three temples, installation of idols and other related works which had been financed by him out of his personnel resources.
