JAMMU, Nov 14: Children’s Day–the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister of India Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm.
PG Department of Dogri, University of Jammu organized Dogri play “Shah-Shahni” in collaboration with Viraj Kala Kendra, Jammu in its campus on the occasion of Children’s Day. Renowned Dogri writer Prof Lalit Magotra, President Dogri Sanstha, Jammu was the chief guest who was accompanied by great social activist Raj Bharti, President Viraj Kala Kendra, Jammu. Prof Sushma Sharma, HoD Dogri Department, University of Jammu alongwith Dr Padam Malhar has arranged the occasion which shows the great efforts made by them in spreading the mother tongue Dogri through various means of literature, art and culture. Director and writer of the play Rajneesh Gupta was in the role of Shah, Meera Tapasvi was Shahni, Madan Rangila enlivened the role of Kasturi Halwai, Pawan Verma gave humorous touch to the play in the role of Gara, Rekha Sharma was the neighbour Chanchla, Tarun Charak was the traveller from Pakistan accompanied with Rishab Manhas. Beautiful makeup was given by Shammi Dameer. A large number of students of University, scholars, Prof. Sushma Sharma, HoD Sanskrit Department, Prof Baljeet Kour, HoD Punjab Department, artist fraternity including veteran artist Santosh Sangra, Avinash Lakhotra, Savita Khajuria and Viney Daggar watched the play.
Children’s Day was celebrated by the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Government Degree College, Ramnagar. Dr Mukesh Sharma, HoD Physical Education and Sports presented the welcome address, followed by dance performances of students and solo song by Head Department of Physical Education Dr Mukesh Sharma and Nitish Sharma, Lecturer. Vice Principal Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra, faculty members and students were present in the event.
To commemorate the day, NSS Unit (IMDAD) of GDC Darhal organized a cultural bonanza. The programme was initiated by welcome address of Dr Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi in which he threw light on the life and contributions of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. Floral tribute was paid to Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru by staff and students followed by a cultural bonanza and symposium as well as poetry competition. The program was organized under the guidance of Prof Mussaraf Hussain Shah, Principal of the College.
To celebrate Children’s Day and to spread awareness on importance of oral healthcare in children, Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Institute of Dental Sciences, Sehora, Jammu organised oral health check up and awareness camp. Oral health education was provided by Dr. Alpna Sharma Head of Department.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar Jammu, celebrated Children’s Day. Sports events and special assembly were arranged for the students. The whole event was organized under guidance of Activity Incharge of the school Sheetal Basotra. A fancy dress competition was also held for the students. Various games were also conducted on the occasion. The function ended with motivational speech and melodious song sung by Devinder Kour, the Principal of the school.
Children’s Day was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm for the students of Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle and Senior Wings of Delhi Public School. The students participated in several fun activities, while the teachers also presented special assemblies for them. Principal DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the teachers and also urged the children to recognize their own unique gifts to build a positive self-identity.
Children’s Day was celebrated as a Bal Mela at Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School Jeevan Nagar, Jammu, in which school students and teachers participated enthusiastically. Principal of the school Rameshwar Mengi encouraged and cheered the children and shared the day with the children. An array of stalls with a variety of spicy and savory mouth-watering food items and exciting games were the main attractions of the Bal Mela.
Army Public School Damana celebrated Children’s Day. The celebration began with the Special Morning Assembly wherein the teachers made the day special for the children by presenting Story, Poem, Speech and Special Greetings. The students took part in the plethora of fun activities. Pushpinder Kaur, Principal APS Damana persuaded the students to be the prudent pioneers of the nation exploring the vistas of excellence. Shallu Kapoor, Vice-Principal of the school also motivated the students to shine brighter and spread happiness.
To commemorate Children’s Day, a special assembly was held in the campus of Modern Montessorie International (MMI) Pre School. The assembly was conducted to incorporate the knowledge why and when we celebrate Children’s Day and who was Chacha Nehru. To give a real feel, one of Nursery teacher took the initiative to represent Jawahar Lal Nehru. Children enjoyed the day with lots of fun filled activities.
Indira Public Higher Secondary School Shant Nagar Janipur along with its Play Way Wing celebrated Children’s Day with fanfare and enthusiasm. On the occasion, students attired in colourful dresses took part in various events organised by the teachers of the students. Chairman of the Institution Sanjay Padha and Principal Rashu Padha were also present on the occasion and in their speeches threw light on the importance of the day. They also asked the students to follow the footprints of first Prime Minister of India Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru.
The management, staff and students of Kotwal National Institute of Teaching B-11, Bharat Nagar, Talab Tillo celebrated Children’s Day to commemorate the birthday of the first Prime Minister of India. The day was celebrated by organizing ‘Display your Talent’ wherein the Knitians of Classes 9th, 10th and 11th showcased their unique talent by performing dance, acting, painting, singing, yoga and calligraphy. Principal KNIT, Bimla Blawria threw light on the life of 1st Prime Minister Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. Director KNIT Prof JL Kotwal gave away the certificates of Merit to the Knitians for their brilliant performances in co-curricular activities. The winners of National Level School competition to commemorate 28th World Ozone Day were also awarded.
Children’s Day was celebrated at Unique Public Senior Secondary School, Gadigarh. This day focused on children and their enjoyment. The teacher made children’s Day special for their children by involving them into different varieties of dances, songs and skits. Chairman Jasbir Singh, Trustee of the school Nirlep Kour and Vice Principal Arti Rajput were also present on the occasion.
Children’s Day was celebrated with vigour and enthusiasm with children by the teachers of International Delhi Public School (IDPS) Garten. The occasion was made memorable for the little ones with the presence of their grandparents. A beautiful Kathak performance was presented by the girls of Blossoms followed by a welcome song recited by the Blooms to welcome the grandparents. The grandparents and children were involved to a performance and melodious medley of songs by their teachers.
The students of Shiv Public Higher Secondary School Sari Rakwalan Ghou Manhasan road Jammu celebrated Children’s Day by presenting various colourful items. A debate competition was organized on topic “The role of discipline in Student’s Life”. On the occasion Principal Mehak Manhas and Chairman BS Salaria highlighted the importance of this day.
SD Tara Puri Public High School, Gandhi Nagar Jammu celebrated Children’s Day. Principal Neeru Puri and all staff members were present in the programme. The students of different classes showcased their talent by presenting different cultural items.
A Bal Mela was organized by staff and students of Sai Shyam Public School, Ghou-Manhasan, Jammu to celebrate Children’s Day. The inauguration of Mela was done by Dr Usha Tickoo Principal Sai Shyam College of Education, Ghou-Manhasan, Jammu. Different kinds of stalls were displayed by students and staff together. All students, teachers and general public participated in the Mela. Principal of the Institution Anita Ganjoo was also present on the occasion.
A spellbinding morning assembly was organized in the premises of Stephens International Public School to commemorate the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru which is fondly celebrated as Children’s Day. The teaching fraternity of the school recited the prayer followed by a short speech about the vitality of the day. The students were in awe to witness their teachers perform an array of recreation. The Director Satvinder Saini, Trustee Kunal Saini, Principal Rama Jamwal, Vice Principal Dr Kaajal Bhasin and Headmistress Shweta Bakshi were also present on the occasion.
Children’s Day was celebrated in the premises of Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School and its Play Way School, Rajpura. The students of the school gave sizzling and spellbound performances with melodious patriotic songs and different cultural programmes. A ‘Children’s Day Carnival’ was organised at Mother India Senior Secondary School, RS Pura to celebrate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. The event started with lighting of traditional lamp by the Chairman, Management Committee, Mohan Singh in presence of Principal of the School, Sonia Tohra along with all the staff members. They garlanded the picture of Pt. Nehru and paid floral tributes to the first Prime Minister of India on his birth anniversary. There were different food and games stalls installed in the carnival. A Lucky Draw was also organized on the occasion in which the 1st Prize (Wooden Wardrobe) was won by Lovejeet Singh of Science Stream of Class 11th. The 2nd Prize (Electric Geyser) was won by Manpreet Singh of Science Stream of Class 12th. The 3rd Prize (Trolley Bag) was won by Sunaina Chib of Commerce Stream of Class 12th. The 4th Prize (Dinner Set) was won by Damini of Science Stream of Class 11th. The 5th Prize (Bowl Set) was won by Akhil Gotra of Commerce Stream of Class 12th. Twenty Consolation prizes were also given to the next twenty Lucky Draw Winners.
To celebrate Children’s Day, Government Higher Secondary School Chiralla organized a special programme under the chairmanship of Hem Raj Chalotra, Principal of the institution. A variety of cultural programmes were beautifully presented by the students which kept the audience spellbound. A symposium on ‘Life history of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru’ was also organized in which Radhika Devi of class 11th and Minel Sharma of class 10th bagged first and second position respectively.
Children’s day was celebrated at Government High School Johnu, Zone Jib. Swaran Singh District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur was the chief guest along with Ex ZEO Dwaraka Nath and Headmaster GHS Johnu Devi Dass Sharma. Cultural program and sports competitions were organised on the occasion. The function was witnessed by all the students of institutions, parents, and local residents of the area.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister of India Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru, Children’s Day was celebrated at Government Middle School Channi Himmat. To mark the occasion, BJP Mahila Morcha J&K Spokesperson Ritika Trehan distributed eatables like chocolates, toffees, biscuits among students of school. To show their love for the students, the teachers presented a colourful bonanza of songs, dances and words of wisdom.
Children’s day celebrated at Government Middle School Sangli Katwalt Zone Kulwanta Ramnagar. Children are more excited to celebrate this day. Different activities and programs were performed by the students. Headmaster GMS Sangli Katwalt Kuldeep Kumar gave moral lesson to the students and distributed sweets and prizes among them.
Children’s Day was celebrated at Rich Harvest School Bari Brahmana. The special attractions were the movie show, group dances and music. The huge applause by the students seems to further cement the bond between teachers and students, as the teachers reminisced about their childhood through their presentations. Anita Bhatia, Principal-RHS motivated students to follow the teachings of former Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Aroma Foundation Public School Lower Roop Nagar Jammu celebrated Children’s Day. Rich tributes were paid to Pt Jawaharlal Nehru. On the occasion, the students participated in different cultural activities and performed funny and educational skits which were highly appreciated by all. Kamal Sharma, Vice Principal of the school threw light on the importance of the day.
Vidya Jyoti Model High School Indira Colony Janipur celebrated Children’s Day. The students participated in the celebrations very enthusiastically. Principal Rahul Raizada threw light on the life and teachings of Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru.
Lord Mahavira Playway School celebrated Children’s Day. In order to facilitate the students, different activities and programs were organised keeping their likes and interest in view. Instead of the students for a change, the morning assembly was conducted by the teachers. Surinder Sharma Chairman of the school was the chief guest and Priyanka Sharma Director of the school was guest of honour on the occasion.
Junior DPS, Trikuta Nagar celebrated Children’s Day. The main attraction of the function was the Disney Theme. The children came dressed up as Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck and Iron Man. Parents also accompanied their kids. Various games were also organised during the celebration. In the end, Principal Anjali Kotwal presented vote of thanks.
Children’s Day was celebrated by Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society at Rajiv Nagar Narwal and TN Sector 5 schools for the slum children. Various activities including a magic show, tattoo making, etc were held for the tiny tots. On the occasion, President of the Society Rashmi Sharma, members and the Principals of the schools were present. The students presented cultural programme. The members of the society also distributed nutrition boxes. Working President of the Society Bharat Bhushan addressed the students and motivated them to work for the society as the children are the back bone of the society.
FICCI Flo Founding Chairperson Ritu Singh celebrated Children’s Day with children from slums to provide them dignity and inclusion in society. Vice Chairperson Esther William, Payal Saraf, Kritika Khanna, Swati Dedeechi, Ankita Bansal and Kamakshi Dewan were also present on the occasion. On the occasion, children played games, danced, sing songs and enjoying favourite food. They were given prizes also. FICCI Flo will empower these children through health camps, education and skilling to provide them dignity and equality in society.
National Incredible Literacy Mission celebrated Children’s Day. The programme began with lightening of traditional lamp followed by welcome address by Sindhu Choudhary at Zonal Headquarter of NILM in Bantalab Jammu. Kavita Bali Secretary National Incredible Literacy Mission, Jammu was the chief guest, who while speaking inspired the students to have moral values. A colourful cultural programme was presented by students. On the occasion, KD Kurhan Chairman, NILM threw light on the importance of the day.
A Plantation drive under J&K Green Drive was held on the eve of Children’s day at Raja New Light High School Sunderbani. A number of saplings were planted by students to celebrate the day. The saplings were also distributed among the students. Rangeel Singh, Block Forest Officer Sunderbani organized a special counter from where the students collected saplings of their choice. Rakesh Verma Range Forest Officer, Sunderbani said that such drives are conducted on special occasions so that maximum number of saplings will be planted. The whole drive was conducted under the directions of Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests, West Circle Rajouri and Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer, Nowshera.
Sheikh Mohammad Imran visited various schools in Khanyar Constituency where he greeted pupils on the eve of Children’s Day. The schools he visited included Mahajan Green Light Higher Secondary School at Ishber, Government Girls Higher Secondary at Brane-Nishat and Government Boys Higher Secondary at Shalimar. Sheikh Imran said that children are the future of our society and it is our responsibility to ensure that every care is taken for their welfare. During his visit to these schools, Imran greeted the children and interacted with them.
To commemorate the day, Live for Others-Being Helpful Foundation organised a small event in which they share the importance of being educated and also distributed stationery items among children. Live For Others-Being Helpful Foundation (NGO) launched a Project make all kids educated under theme ‘Mission Make’ in a slum at Birma Pull, Udhampur and Hazuribagh Talab-Tillo, Jammu educating less fortunate children free of cost. Under ‘Mission Make’, LFO-BHF today donated stationery kits and eatables among the needy children at Birma Pull and Jammu and also shared their thoughts and benefits of education. Vivek Parihar, CEO and Founder of LFO-BHF, Navya Vice President (Jammu Province) of LFO-BHF and other members Shubam, Vidit, Manvi, Abhinandan, Neha, Sahil, Vishal, Samar and Abhishek were present on the occasion.
Rajan Gupta Social activist and President Sarv Shakti Sena Jammu Kashmir distributed eatables and woollen clothes among the inmates of Kusht Ashram on the occasion of Children’s Day. Rajan Gupta also interacted with the management of the Ashram and enquired about the issues being faced by them. He appealed to the people of Jammu region to come forward and extend all possible support to such organization, which are running charitable homes and playing vital role in the society by providing all necessary support. Others present were Sahil Sharma, Dheeraj Kumar and Gulshan Sangra.
