Women meet on Food Security Act organised

SAMBA, Oct 15: In connection with the ongoing 3-month long intensive publicity awareness campaign on Food Security Act by the Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Publicity Unit Kathua in cooperation with ICDS project, Vijaypur organized a day-long women meet on Food Security Act at community hall in village Ridwam.
The awareness programme was aimed at sensitizing and mobilizing the masses in general and rural masses in particular especially at the grass root level about various aspects and provisions of recently passed Food Security Act, which is meant for providing food to all.
A large number of local women, adolescent girls, Anganwari workers and helpers drawn from different Anganwari centers of the area participated in the seminar and expressed their views on the subject.
The function was presided over by N Gulshan Raina (IIS), Field Publicity Officer, DFP.
While interacting with the audience, Raina spelled out the aims and objectives of such awareness programmes for the common masses directly at the grass root level from time to time.
At last, Vijay Jasrotia, ICDS Supervisor presented vote of thanks.
Raman Kumar, Sarpanch, Raj Kumar, Technical Assistant, DFP, Dharam Paul, Panchayat Delegate were also present.
