JAMMU, Nov 17: Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department under the guidance of Sanjay Gupta, Chairman, J&K Grameen Bank in collaboration with NABARD organized a Digital & Financial Literacy Awareness Programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Bishnah for the girl students of classes XI and XII with theme ‘Women Empowerment and Awareness’.
Poornima Kakroo, Manager, NABARD discussed the concept of women empowerment with the girl students with a special focus on women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices and their right to influence social change for themselves and others.
Further, she highlighted various schemes of the Government of India under which each girl student can take benefits for making their choice regarding career opportunities.
Akanksha, Senior Manager, J&K Grameen Bank highlighted various schemes being implemented by the bank for the benefit of the students for perusing higher studies such as Central Sector Interest Subsidy Scheme, Dr. Ambedkar Scheme of Interest Subsidy, Padho Pardesh Scheme of Interest Subsidy on Education Loan, etc.
All the students were also informed about various other loan schemes being implemented by the bank for career and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Hetu Wadhera, Assistant Manager, J&K Grameen Bank, explained the concept of saving schemes of the bank, the benefits of various Govt Social Security Schemes, digital products of the Bank and benefits of PMJDY Rupay Debit Card.
In the programme, students were provided with the opportunity to share their experiences of the programme and many of them took the opportunity and motivated their co-mates to avail the schemes for better career planning in future.
The programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Virender Singh, Vice Principal of the School.
