JAMMU, Nov 17: Sainik Samaj Party (SSP) appointed Captain Anil Gour as Party patron, here today.
President, Col. SS Pathania (Retd) said that it is great honour and pleasure for the Party to have an eminent person like Captain Anil Gour (Retd) at the helm of affairs as patron. “He is an astute person in politics over a long period but also a well known social activist who has been continually raising the issues of the people on various forums,” said Pathania by holding a press conference, here.
The induction of the Col Gour will infuse a new lease of life in the Party which is duly recognised by the Election Commission of India since 2011 and under his guidance, the Party will contest upcoming election either Assembly or Parliament, Retd. Col. Pathania said.
The Party chief ministerial candidate, Lt. General PS Mehta (retd) said that people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered due to ill conceived policies of Kashmir centric policies where successive Governments at Centre also continued with their appeasement policies rather than eradicating the root cause of militancy and related problems.
“Time has now come where 75 years of discrimination, exploitation, subjugation and demographic jihad had imposed on people of Jammu region must end,” he asserted.
Pathania said that the Party will continue its commitment towards protecting the jobs for local youth, development of Kandi border areas, 35 percent reservation for women from wards to Assembly election and establishment of Jammu Doordarshan channel for promoting Dogra art and culture.
Executive committee including Col RS Jasrotia, Lt Col. Harpal Singh, Rajeev Luther and others were also present during the event.
