Committees framed for PMJVK implementation in J&K

JAMMU, Nov 18: Government of Jammu and Kashmir today accorded sanction to the constitution of Union Territory, District and Block level committees for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) in the Union Territory.
According to the Order, Chief Secretary of J&K will be the chairman of the UT level committee and Administrative Secretary of Planning Development & Monitoring Department will be its member secretary while as administrative secretaries of Finance, Jal Shakti, Housing & Urban, Skill Development, Industries & Commerce, Higher Education, School Education, Science & Technology, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Revenue, Social Welfare, Youth Services & Sports, Tourism and Health & Medical Education will be members of the Committee.
Other members of the UT level committee will be Deputy Commissioner of concerned district, Director Social Welfare Jammu/Kashmir, General Manager of Lead Bank (UTLBC) and a representative of Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
Further, the District level committees will be headed by concerned DDC Chairpersons while Deputy Commissioner concerned will be co-chairman/member secretary of these committees. Concerned Chief Education Officers, Chief Medical Officers, District Programme Officers and Lead District Managers will be members of these committees which will also have three nominated members which will be from reputed NGO/Civil Society (working for minority) and will be nominated by Deputy Commissioner concerned.
As per the order, the District level committees shall ensure that the Member of Parliament/ Member of Legislative Assembly representing the District is invited for the meetings.
Block level committees will be chaired by concerned BDC Chairpersons while concerned Block Development Officers will be co-chairman/member secretary of these committees. Concerned Zonal education Officers, Block Medical Officers, Child Development Project Officers, Tehsil Social Welfare Officers, Block level local lead bank officers and Principals of ITI if any will be members of these committees. Further, the Block level committees will also have 3 nominated members (nominated by Deputy Commissioner) from reputed NGO/Civil Society working for minority.
