JAMMU, Nov 18: As part of the exposure visit to Bhubaneswar (Orissa) being sponsored by Regional and Urban Development Agency (RUDA) and Centre for Environment Education, Mayor Jammu Rajinder Sharma along with his team today visited few Material Recovery Facilities and Material Compost centers being run by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
They had a detailed interaction with its Mayor BMC, Commissioner and their team to understand best practices being followed to manage solid waste being generated in the city. Threadbare discussion also took place in which both the leaders shared their experiences in which specific emphasis was given to solid waste management, provision of all basic services to the citizens, building permissions, smart city initiatives etc.
In the last shawl and mementos were given to the visiting dignitaries by the Mayor BMC.
They were shown management of both organic and inorganic waste material and its processing and disposal.
