Martyr refused to go on Eid leave to serve nation

Lance Naik Mohammad Feroz Khan, 31, who was killed in Pakistan firing on the eve of Eid festival this afternoon, had been offered leave by the Army to celebrate the festival with his family at Char Minar, Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh but he had declined the offer to serve the nation at a time when tensions had escalated on the Line of Control (LoC).

A senior Army officer said Khan, who attained martyrdom in Pakistan firing at MS Tekri Post in Balakote sector this afternoon, had decided not to go on leave to his house this Eid in view of tensions on the LoC and celebrate the festival with his colleagues on the borders.
However, Pakistan Army, which is notorious for its inhuman and barbaric acts, killed the jawan on the eve of Eid festival.
“This is the biggest gift a brave soldier like Feroz Khan has given to his family by sacrificing his life in the service of nation,” the Army officer said, adding his sacrifice would be remembered by the entire country for the years to come.
GOC 16 Corps Lt Gen D S Hooda has also expressed his deepest condolences to the family of Khan, who is survived by his wife and two children.
