POONCH, Nov 19: Police foiled attempts of bovine smuggling in Surankote area and rescued 10 animals.
These animals were being smuggled in two vehicles bearing registration number JK12B- 0618 and JK12C- 0785, which were on the way towards Kashmir.
On the direction of SSP Poonch Rohit Baskotra, teams headed by DySP Surankote and SHO Surankote had established nakas at Potha and Surankote areas. During the naka checking, these two vehicles were intercepted even as both the drivers managed to flee.
In this connection case, FIRs 387 and 388 of 2022, under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act have been registered at Police Station Surankote.
