Srinagar, Oct 16: Director General Prisons K Rajendra Kumar today visited the Kot Balwal Jail to felicitate the inmates and staff on the eve of Eid and to review the security of the jail.
A police spokesman said here that the DG Prisons visited the barracks, interacted with the inmates, and felicitated them on the eve of Eid-ul-Zuha. He also enquired about the different facilities being provided to them. The DG Prisons while emphasizing up on them the need of having cordial relations with one another advised them to strengthen mutual brotherhood. He assured that all legitimate help will be provided and more efforts will be put in to improve the living conditions of the inmates.
The DG Prisons also held a security review meeting wherein he directed the officers to maintain a foolproof security of the jail and keep a close vigil to thwart any incident.
He will visit more jails in next few days across the State to take a review of the security and the amenities being provided to the inmates.
