Newly constituted ‘Masahara’ demands Bharat Ratna to Lala Hansraj

JAMMU, Nov 20: Akhil Bhartiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha (ABMSS), J&K Zone organized a special Award Ceremony at Sarore, Samba where 67 organizations from Kishtwar to Kathua were decorated with ‘Duggar Shavak Award’ for their lauding the contributions of Sher-e-Duggar Lala Hansraj Mahajan during his birth and death anniversaries.
The programme started with recitation of Gayatri Mantra followed by lighting of lamps. All the persons present on the occasion paid floral tributes to Lala Hansraj Mahajan.
Suman Kumar Gupta, Sabha patron J&K Zone delivered welcome address.
The participating organizations demanded to constitute a State level confederation of all the NGOs to support Lala Hansraj Mahajan. The demand got overwhelming response and all participating organizations consented to be a member of the confederation which was named as ‘Masahara’.
It was unanimously resolved that Masahara shall meet different organizations and forums to make them aware about Lala Hansraj Mahajan and shall convince them to be part of Masahara.
Simultaneously, Masahara shall urge Center and State governments to give due recognition to pre-independence leader of the Dogra community whose commendable contributions to the Duggar community are unforgettable.
A charter of demands was formulated which shall be shortly presented to the concerned authorities. These demands include Bharat Ratna to Lala Hansraj Mahajan, installation of life size statue of Lala Hansraj Mahajan at any prominent Chowk of Jammu, addition of a chapter on Lala Ji in primary school curriculum to inspire children, initiation of high level award on name of Lala Ji in the field of Social Work/Journalism and all schools/colleges must display a framed picture of Lala Ji at a prominent place.
Ram Langar, Sabha general secretary J&K Zone presented vote of thanks.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Rakesh Kumar Mahajan, Ranjan Gupta, Ravinder Gupta, Krishan Gupta, Darshan Lal Chopra, Darshan Gupta and Pawan Kumar Gupta.
