Kathua police seizes 650 grams of Ganja

KATHUA, Nov 20: Continuing its war on drugs drive to contain the spread of narcotics drugs and Psychotropic Substances within the district, Kathua police under the guidance of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal today recovered and seized approximately 650 grams of Ganja like narcotics at Sabzi Mandi Kathua arrested one drug peddler and seized the narcotics on spot.
A police team of PS Kathua led by PSI, Riaz Ahmed under the supervision of in charge DySP Headquarters Kathua, Sukhdev Singh and Inspector, O P Chib, SHO PS Kathua during patrolling checking duty in its jurisdictional area at Sabzi Mandi Kathua area apprehended one person namely Hem Raj Chouhan, son of Shiv Dhulari Chouhan of Sakrapali Baloda Bazar Gatdih Chattisgarh who was enrouted from Canal Road towards W.No. 14 Sabzi Mandi Kathua area.
During checking approximately 650 grams of Ganja like narcotics was recovered from his possession. Thereafter all the recovered narcotics was seized and one person was arrested. A case vide FIR No. 440/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kathua and further investigation is underway.
