JMC team lifts samples of Khoya

JAMMU, Oct 16: Continuing drive against the adulteration, team of Food Safety Wing under the supervision of Dr Vinod Sharma Health Officer JMC, laid down the naka at Railway Station area on specific information about the delivery of large quantity of Khoya being imported from outside the State, today.
The team spotted some vehicles loaded / carrying Khoya coming from the Railway Station to enter the city. On seeing the Heath wing team the carriers tried to flee and one of them was trapped at Raghunath Bazar area while he was unloading his delivery.
The driver of that vehicle told the team that he has loaded the Khoya from Railway Station the consignment was brought from M/s Jai Shiv Mava Bhandar Nawab Ganj West Muzaffarnagar UP. The team lifted the two samples of Khoya from Raghunath Bazar where the consignment was being delivered and sent to the Food Analyst Jammu for analysis to ascertain the purity of the material.
The whole operation took almost six hours. The Railway authorities / Railway Police are also requested to cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation for successful and fruitful drive regarding the purity of eatable materials.
The public in general is also requested to give information if they have regarding such activities.
