KP leaders extend full support to package employees struggle

JAMMU, Nov 21: Making a joint appeal to the Government that not to force package employees to join their duties, various leaders of the community urged it to attach them with Relief and Rehabilitation Organisation till restoration of normalcy in the Valley.
Addressing a convention of package employees here ,today they said that it would be unfair to ask employees to work in the Valley when they are facing daily threats from militants.
These leaders also extended full support to the ongoing struggle of the employees and termed their demand as justified. The convention was organized by package employees under the banner of All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK). The employees and community leadership expressed their dismay over the callous attitude of the Government in addressing their demand. These leaders also appealed to the Government to release salaries of employees without further delay.
The community leaders who addressed the convention included president Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, K K Khosa, Academician, Prof A N Sadhu, social activist, Rakesh Koul, president TRT, Buta Nagar, Ashok Dhar, president YAIKS, R K Bhat, APP leader, M K Yogi, president Vijayeshwar Devasthan Trust, Bijbehara, Sanjay Tickoo, president JTC, Shadi Lal Pandita, JK Thinkers Forum, M L Raina, president ASKPC R K Wangu, secretary PNBMT, Sundari Lal Koul and ex president, TRT Muthi, T N Koul.
In his address, president KPS, K K Khosa said that under very odd circumstances these employees worked in the Valley and never left. He also said that they can’t work in the present scenario there as they face security threat. He urged the Government to initiate a dialogue with the community leadership to find an amicable solution to the issue.
Academician Prof A N said that they supported the package on the grounds that it will address the economic issues of the KP families but never thought that it would be made a part of the rehabilitation. “The logic behind KP youth going to Valley was only to avail jobs and they served there but now the situation is not favourable for them so their demand is justified and must be addressed,” he further said.
President YAIKS, R K Bhat said that his organisation is well aware of the situation in Kashmir and therefore he stood with the demand of the employees. He also suggested formation of a Joint Action Committee of KP leadership to solve the issue of employees.
Ashok Dhar, president, TRT Buta Nagar also supported the demand while APP leader MK Yogi suggested to the gathering that KP leaders cutting across their party lines should put their efforts so that the demand of package employees get addressed. JTC president, Shadi Lal Pandita appealed to the Government to release salaries of employees.
The AMEAK (D) also presented a resolution regarding their demand of relocation which was passed unanimously. The employee leaders who spoke were Rubon Saproo, Ranjan Jotshi, Yogesh Pandita, Rakesh Pandita, Rakesh Pandita, Neha and Kanchan.
