JAMMU, Oct 16: Four persons of a family were arrested by Janipur police in abetment to suicide case.
A police spokesman said that, on September 21 a woman namely Bandana Sethi, wife of Sanjay Sethi of Doordarshan Lane, Janipur allegedly committed suicide under mysterious circumstances.
On getting information, police party from Janipur Police Station rushed to the spot and shifted the body to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), he added.
After autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for last rites and inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC were initiated by Janipur Police Station, he said.
During investigation, it came to fore that husband of the lady Sanjay Sethi use to harass her for dowry with the support of three other family members, he added.
On this, police arrested lady’s husband and three others family members, who have been identified as Jyoti Sethi, Rakesh Sethi and Isher Dass Sethi.
A case under FIR number 124/13 and under Section 306 RPC has been registered at Janipur Police Station and investigation started.
Police party led by SHO Niaz-ul-Hassan made the arrest.
