UDHAMPUR, Nov 22: Senior Congress leader Sumit Magotra has strongly criticised the BJP and the UT administration for power shortage and imposing long power cuts in the district.
Talking to media-persons, Magotra said that in summer, when the Electricity department started unscheduled power cuts for 6 to 8 hours, Congress activists staged dharna for three days and took out a torch light procession. But the administration rolled back on is decision later.
He said now when the winters have started, power cut in the morning and evening has created trouble for the people of the city and the villages, especially for the school going children and housewives. The trade and other sectors have also been hit with it.
Magotra said when he spoke to the senior PDD officers they claimed that the instructions for the cut have been received from State Load Despatch Centre (SLDC). Taking a dig at the BJP, Magotra said that the BJP, which promises good days, is torturing the general public for basic things like electricity and water.
