Teachers Federation highlights demands, grievances

JAMMU, Oct 17:  A day-long session of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation was held today under the chairmanship of Balwan Singh Jamwal for threadbare discussion on the problem of teaching fraternity.
The Federation leaders highlighted the issues such as the need for framing transparent transfer policy, suitable adjustment of Masters repatriated from other districts and attached with CEO office, Senior Teacher grade to all trained undergraduate teachers,  release of salary grants in time to avoid the undue harassment to the teaching community,  leave encashment for teachers, filling up of all vacant posts of teachers, Masters and  Lecturers and regularization of all ReTs who have completed five years if regular service under EGS scheme.
While addressing the session, Balwan Singh expressed serious concern over the policy of attaching recently promoted Masters, who were adjusted outside the Jammu district. He appealed the Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, who is holding the portfolio on Education Department, to personally intervene into the matter so that honest and dedicated teachers may not suffer.
Others who addressed, included Manga Ram Sharma, Subash Sharma, Chaman Lal, Shamsher Singh, Yaseen Ahmad, Inderjeet Gupta, Sanjiwan Singh, Mohan Lal Sharma, Jagdeep Singh, Ajay Sharma, Rakesh Kalotra, Dinesh Singh and Satish Sharma.
