JAMMU, Nov 27: Senior BJP leader, Ajay Gupta who is also Chairman of Social Justice Committee and Councillor of Ward number 52 of Jammu Municipal Corporation here today started the construction work of Shivaji Park in his Ward.
The work shall be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 22 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion Gupta said that development work at the park was a long pending demand of locals of the area which has been started today.
He said there was no park in Mattoo Colony, 1-B &1-C, East Extension, Sain Vihar and Friends Colony and this park will provide a green space for children and elders of the areas to play, walk etc.
The senior BJP leader further said that soon a bore well will also be dug there to resolve the issues of water scarcity in these areas.
“After being elected as Councillor I got two parks built in the Ward, Bharat Mata Park at South Extension being the one and other being the Shivaji Park,” he maintained.
Gupta said that the Park when completed will be dedicated to the public.
Those who were present on the occasion were Ward president, Nitin Thappa; T.R Sharma, Ajay Baddan, Vishal Gupta, Ramesh Chaudhary, Pawan and locals of the area Quyam Manhas (Retd. IGP), Ravinder Koul, Vinod, Mahesh Gupta, Ram Kumar, Suram Singh, Anil and others.
