Amid chanting of patriotic slogans and Maha Mrityunjiya, Ritu Singh put Tikka on forehead of all the officers and prayed for their long lives. The visiting team was wearing traditional turbans. Singer Naveen from Hari Niwas paid a tribute with an emotional and patriotic song.
Speaking on the occasion, Ritu Singh lent her full support as hotelier to the forces and also threw light on the age old history of Suchetgarh with her ancestors. She said that Maharaja Gulab Singh had built Raghunath Temple here in 1837 and the area was named after his younger brother Raja Suchet Singh. Prior to 1947, there was a Railway Station here to Sialkot and taxes were collected. Hence this spot was named as Octroi Post.
