JAMMU, Nov 28: NGO-Healthy India Stronger India (HISI) here today organized Graduation Ceremony for its 65 students who have completed three month free course in Tailoring and Computers from the training centre of the NGO.
Hira Lal Abrol, HISI chairman welcomed the guests and presented a report of activities that are being conducted at the training centre of the NGO.
He said that HISI provides free skill training to needy children, irrespective of their religion and caste.
During the programme he distributed ‘Course Completion Diplomas’ to the students who have successfully completed their courses for this session.
He complemented the teaching staff of the NGO-Meena Gupta, Romika Gupta and Anita Mehra for their hard work and selfless approach.
In a handout the NGO stated that it runs ‘Free Training Centre’ of skill development for needy and poor children from BPL families wherein three month free courses in Basic Computers, Cutting & Tailoring, Beautician Course, Vocal Music and Dance are conducted and there is a free library for students.
Nearly 5065 students have passed out, after successful completion of courses from this center and they have been placed in various organizations, some of them have even started their own ventures.
HISI equips its students with moral values and life skills. The students are motivated to live a healthy life and to stay away from tobacco and drugs.
Girls and women trainees of the NGO are trained in self defense.
