Govt constitutes Board for Sukrala Devi, Mata Bala Sundri Shrine

JAMMU, Oct 18: Following passing of an Act for constitution of Mata Sukrala Devi Ji and Mata Bala Sundri Ji Shrine Board, the Government has constituted the Shrine Board for the better management, administration and governance of these shrines.
Formal SRO in this regard was issued today.
As per the notification, the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu will head the Board, whereas Deputy Commissioner, Kathua will be Vice Chairman and Additional Chief Executive Officer, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Director Tourism, Jammu and Sub Divisional Magistrate, Billawar will be Members of the Board.
Renowned scholar Pawan Shastri of Thakur Dwara, Shakti Nagar, Jammu; senior journalist. Zorawar Singh Jamwal; Neelam Vaid, retired Lecturer in Sanskrit and resident of  Billawar; Dr  Narinder Vaid of  Billawar and  Sham Lal Gupta, retired Director Colleges, resident of  Billawar will be non-official members of the Board.
Pertinent to mention that the Act for constitution of the Shrine Board was passed during last Budget session of the State Assembly but the Board was not fully constituted so far due to delay in nomination of non-official members.
The Minister of State for Cooperative and MLA Billawar Dr Manohar Lal Sharma told the Excelsior that the Board would soon take over management of both the shrines for their development and better administration to facilitate the visiting pilgrims.
