Freight rates up on less position of trucks

NEW DELHI, Oct 19:  Freight rates for nine tonne load rose by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today on tight position of trucks against busy cargo movements.
Transporters said increased movement of cargo against tight position of trucks largely pushed up some centres’ freight rates.
Capital to Mumbai, Kolkata and Pune rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 29,000, Rs 31,000 and Rs 30,000.
Rates to Chennai and Mysore also rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 63,000 and Rs 65,000.
