JAMMU, Dec 1: Kavinder Gupta former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has reiterated that BJP Government’s commitment to provide the basic necessities including drinking water to the people in every nook and corner of the nation.
He said that this can be well gauged from the fact that the significant Jal Jeevan Mission launched by the Government in this direction successfully achieved the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ target across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The senior BJP leader stated this addressing a function organized to commence the development work of laying of drinking water supply pipeline at Pali Hills Colony in Malik Market Panchayat, Sunjwan of Jammu City here today. He started another development work of lane and drain at Rajiv Nagar area of Narwal.
Kavinder kick-started this developmental work along with Rajkumar, Chairman Public Health & Sanitation and PHE Committee of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in the presence of Vinay Gupta, BJP district president Jammu. Corporator Sharda Kumari and BJP leader, Mohammad Rafeeq.
While addressing the gathering, the former Dy CM said that with the jurisdiction of JMC having got extended to some new rural areas the people in this belt were facing drinking water supply issues. He said that water is the most significant necessity second only to air without which the human survival is not possible. He emphasized that it is the prime duty of the Government to ensure that these basic necessities are available to the people quite easily.
Kavinder also appreciated the efforts of local leader, Mohammad Rafeeq for raising this problem of the people in this particular area for due redressal. He reiterated that the BJP Government being fully committed to resolve the problems and issues of the people especially in rural areas is very prompt in responding to such issues. He said that this problem being related to the basic necessity i.e. water therefore the work has commenced on this project on priority with the laying of water pipeline in and around Pali Hill Colony taking due care of the ease of living of the people in the area.
