Pad Yatra being taken out on Dec 9

JAMMU, Dec 2: To wage a war against corruption and create public awareness against the same, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) is going to organize a Pad Yatra on December 9 from Parade Ground to Maharaja Hari Singh Park here.
The students of various schools, colleges and universities will take part in Pad Yatra which will pass through various markets of Jammu city. This was stated by Mayor Jammu, Rajinder Sharma while chairing a meeting of the office bearers of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu and various trader organisations which met here today.
Mayor said that Chamber and other trade bodies have extended their full support in organizing the rally and launching the crusade against the corruption which is eating up the vitals of the society.
Mayor said Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has given a call for eradication of corruption and making India corruption free from the ramparts of Red Fort on 15th August. In this historical Pad Yatra organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation, besides students, a number of trade organizations, representatives of Chamber of Commerce and various social organizations will participate.
Chamber president, Arun Gupta assured all cooperation to Mayor and assured presence of all traders associations in this event.
Another meeting was also convened by the Mayor, Jammu with officers of Tourism Department to discuss and review the schemes and initiatives for promoting tourism in Jammu city. Officers of Tourism Department briefed the business fraternity of Jammu city regarding various schemes initiated by the Department to boost tourism sector in Jammu. Mayor, Jammu also suggested many heritage spots and temples of Jammu city which have a great potential to attract tourists in Jammu division. Mayor directed Tourism Department to take necessary steps to make Jammu as tourism hub in the country.
