Rlys police, other agencies review situation

JAMMU, Oct 19: Top brass of Railways Police, Army, GRP and para-military forces today held a high level meeting to review security situation at Jammu Railway Station and the rail track in view of spurt in border firing and other Intelligence inputs.
SSP Railways, Jammu Shiv Kumar Sharma said a joint strategy was devised by the security agencies to counter any threat of the militants at Jammu Railway Station and the track from Lakhanpur to Udhampur.
Mr Sharma said the agencies decided to maintain liaison and share Intelligence inputs on regular basis between them.
“Our foremost priority is to protect the passengers at Railway Station and in the trains. All possible measures have been taken for the purpose,” Mr Sharma said adding that all agencies have decided to hold periodic meetings to plug any loophole detected at the Railway Station and other places on the track.
Mr Sharma said Railways Police shared its inputs with other security agencies. He added that Railways Police and other security agencies have taken all possible measures to ensure smooth journey of the passengers in the trains as well as Jammu Railway Station. More steps required for the safety and protection of the passengers would also be taken, he said.
