POONCH, Dec 4: Geology & Mining Department conducted a raid along Daraba river in Tehsil Surankote today and seized 16 vehicles involved in illegal mining.
Official sources said that on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Poonch- Inderjeet, incharge District Mineral Officer Poonch, Mohd Naseeb Bajran along with his team, with the support of local Police raided the block at Daraba river and seized one heavy excavator and 15 tippers for illegal mining.
Incharge DMO Poonch when contacted said that the illegal mining shall not be allowed at all and action under law will be taken against the violators. He appealed public to get e-challan from Lessee, crusher on fixed rates for buying material.
