60 delegates from J&K to attend VBKP Ujjain Sammelan

*Organ donor’s wife, others to be honoured

JAMMU, Dec 4: Over 60 delegates from Jammu and Kashmir will participate in the National Convention (Sammelan) of Vaidic Brahman Kalyan Parishad (VBKP), being held at Holy City of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh on December 29-30 this year.
About 500 delegates from 19 states and several Union Territories of the country are expected to participate in this 6th National level convention of the VBKP, being held in the last week of December at the land of Mahakal, in Ujjain City. Due to Covid-19, the convention could not be held after 2019.
National president of the organisation, Subhash Kaushik said that several issues related to increasing ills in the society, promotion of Vaidic culture, Vaidic education, Sanskrit language, Sanatan Dharma, inculcating moral values among children and youth, drugs menace etc will be deliberated during two day convention besides other burning issues of the society and the country.
The distinguished personalities among the Vaidic Brahmans from various states, children/youth excelling in the field of education, sports, art & culture, securing higher positions and contributing in the field of social service will be honoured at the convention. A unique family and bold wife- Sheela Sharma, from Rajasthan will also be specially honoured for donating human organs of her husband Late Kailash Sharma, whose brain was declared dead by the doctors. “This will be a unique case being felicitated at Ujjain Sammelan,” Kaushik said adding that besides this, the J&K unit led by Pt Daya Ram Sharma and Vikrant Sharma will also be felicitated for waging its struggle to manage Social Caste/Other Backward Class category for the Acharya community in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, recently.
State president of VBKP, Daya Ram Sharma said that about 60 delegates from J&K will be participating in the Ujjan Sammelan. “This will be 6th National level convention being held in Madhya Pradesh. The first one was held at Gurugram in Harayana, the second at Haridwar in Uttrakhand, third at Katra Mata Vaishnodevi in J&K, fourth at Jaipur in Rajasthan, while fifth one at Varidaban in Utter Pradesh,” he added.
