RAMBAN, Dec 5: Police here today arrested a thief and recovered stolen property from his possession.
Police Station Ramban on November 30, 2022 received a written complaint from one Virander Sareen that on intervening night of November 29-30 shuttering plates and iron channels loaded in auto bearing registration no. JK19A2410 were stolen from Kowbagh, Ramban Steel Yard of Gammon Company.
In this regard, a case in FIR No. 404/22 U/S 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation was entrusted to PSI Mukesh Singh.
After generating specific input, the Investigating Office recovered the load carrier vehicle loaded with 30 shuttering plates and 8 iron channels, which were identified by the complainant and were seized on spot. One suspect Ashwani Kumar son of Tirath Ram who also happened to be the driver of stolen auto was picked up and put to sustained questioning during which he confessed to the crime and was arrested.
The overall operation was made by police parties under the command of Inspector Sandeep Charak, SHO Ramban under the supervision of Pardeep Singh Sen Dy.SP Hqrs Ramban and under the overall supervision of SP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
