IIM Jammu organizes management development programme for CAs

JAMMU, Dec 7: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is organizing a three-day management development residential program from today for the Chartered Accountants of India at its Srinagar Off-Campus.
The main objective of this residential management development programme is to help them acquire the requisite knowledge of other functional areas to ensure their effectiveness in managerial roles. 35 members of ICAI working across various domains and in practice from all over India are participating in the three-day residential programme.
The programme was formally inaugurated by CA (Dr) Raj Chawla, Vice-Chairman, CMI&B, ICAI. Speaking on the occasion, he said that in the fast-changing world, chartered accountants are increasingly assuming managerial responsibilities which demand enhanced understanding of other business functions including leadership & effective interpersonal and communication skills, skills in domains of marketing, strategy, change and crisis management and ability to analyze business eco-system. “The MDP will help to address and enhance the existing skill sets of the Chartered Accountants. I am confident that, the participants will not only become much more effective in their managerial roles by acquiring cross-functional perspectives,” he added.
Prof B S Sahay, Director IIM Jammu said: “The programme intends to hone the management, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills of Chartered Accountants. The modules within the programme are structured to offer a good understanding of the newest and most relevant techniques and approaches in management that help in the development of managerial and leadership skills of these young professionals.”
The three-day management development residential programme sessions will feature interesting sessions by Prof Jabir Ali, Dean Academics and other faculty of IIM Jammu. The programme Directors are Dr Baljeet Singh, Assistant Professor, Dr Apurva, Assistant Professor and CA Rajat Jain, FACAO, IIM Jammu.
