‘Char Dishan Char Dham’ released

JAMMU, Oct 20: Minister  for Horticulture, Culture and Housing Raman Bhalla today released “Char Dishan Char Dham”—A travelogue (Yatra Lekh Sangreh), written by a noted Dogri scholar Narinder Bhasin in a function organized by Dogri Sanstha at KL Saigal Hall in presence of prominent writers, scholars and journalists.
Speaking on the occasion Raman Bhalla said that “Char Dishan Char Dham” is more than a travelogue with minute details which matters to everyone adventurous enough to embark on.
It will be a reference and exemplary guide for the intending pilgrims of Duggar, who want to perform the Char Dham Yatra.
President of Dogri Sanstha, Dr Lalit Magotra who presided over the function said “Char Dishan Char Dham” is one of the most comprehensive works ever to hit the stands on the ultimate yatra.
The book is very helpful and useful for intending pilgrims and also has a unique literary value which will enrich the Dogri language and inspire the budding writers towards creative writing, he said, adding that it is a valuable literary piece in Dogri and makes a fascinating reading.
Noted Hindi and Dogri writer Chhatterpal read the paper on the book. He said that the book not only describes the ancient and spiritual culture of Indian civilization but gives detailed information of modern Indian lifestyle and habits of the people living in all the four directions of India as a whole.
Author Narinder Bhasin also read one of the essays from the book on the occasion.
General secretary Dogri Sanstha, Prof Veena Gupta conducted the programme.
