Dogri musical concert ‘Nasha Na Karna’ staged

JAMMU, Dec 9: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in close coordination with Directorate of Social Welfare Department, and Sangam Tru Art Production staged its 138th Friday Series Dogri musical concert ‘Nasha Na Karna’ at Durga Bhawan Janipur, here today.
The program was inaugurated by the chief guest VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GoI, while guests of honour were Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, Dr Anju Kumari Dogra and Mukesh Singh.
The cultural items with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional, primitive folk, art and culture of J&K region were prepared and staged on the theme “Nasha Na Karna Maan Lo Kehna”, “Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio” , ” Bacho Bacho Tobacco Kola Bacho”, “Nai Pee Shraban”, “Bari Kharab Chutki” , “Nahin Piya Tobacco Balma” and Nukkad.
The chief guest said that a person who takes drugs becomes dependent on them and has to keep on taking them to avoid the pain of withdrawal symptoms and highlight the dangers of drug use and their illegal trade.
He also lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes. They also presented awareness songs ‘Do Gaz ki Dori-Bari Zarori on Covid19 ‘, which was written and directed by Dr MLDogra, assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor, BLSKS. The songs were also recorded and uploaded on social media for the benefit of the general public.
Earlier, the welcome speech was given by Dr ML Dogra, chairman BLSKS and pledged to put maximum efforts to make J&K UT free from the menace of drug addiction. He also recalled the significant role of NGOs in the last few decades for bridging this gap by creating low cost replicable models of health care such as child mental health, schizophrenia and psychotic conditions, drug and alcohol abuse, dementia etc.
