Tributes paid to martyrs

JAMMU, Oct 21: Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association in a meeting paid tributes of the Freedom Struggle and remembered Ashfaq Ullah Khan, a close associate of Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose on his birth anniversary today.
Association members also paid tributes to S Saroop Singh who fell to the bullets of enemy while fighting single handedly with six machine guns and attained martyrdom during Indo-China war of 1962 and was awarded MVC posthumously.
The association garlanded photographs of the martyrs and also raised slogans. They also remembered Sardar Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Chander Shekhar Azad, Comrade Dhanwantri and other known and unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives to see free, prosperous and smiling citizens of India.
The members of the association appealed youth to come forward to give a workable and honest leadership to the country to fulfill the dreams of martyrs.
The meeting among others was attended by chairman BL Gupta, president Ved Gandotra, S Jagjit Singh, Dr B S Chara, K K Rao, Hardeep Singh, Gajan Singh, Sukhminder Singh Saini, Charanjit Singh, Deepak Sharma, Harinder Singh, Ramneek Singh and Amrik Singh.
