MENDHAR, Dec 11: To revive the local culture, Indian Army’s Balnoi Battalion under Operation Sadhbhavna organized cultural evening ‘Aaghaaz-The Beginning’ under the aegis of Krishnaghati Brigade.
The primary aim of organizing this cultural evening was to promote the message of universal brotherhood spread by Sufi culture.
The event constituted cultural programmes from various schools of the block, Gojari and Pahadi folk songs by local artists and dance cum music show by Saraswati Sangeet Kala Kendra, Poonch.
The event was attended by about 300 persons. Many civil dignitaries of Poonch attended the event which included Deputy Commissioner Poonch, SDPO Mendhar, Tehsildar Mendhar, Dy. CEO Poonch, Headmasters and teaching staff of various schools of Mankote block, Sarpanches as well as village elders.
The participants of the event were felicitated in the end. The entire programme received a huge crowd cheering and applause by the local population.
