PUDUKKOTTAI, June 15: The candidate of the ruling AIADMK Karthick Thondaman established a comfortable lead of 33,358 over his nearest rival Jagir Hussein of DMDK at the end of tenth round of counting in the June 12 by-election to Pudukkottai Assembly constituency.
While Mr Thondaman secured 48,411 votes, his rival Mr Hussein secured 15,053 votes.
IJK party’s Srinivasan is the third candidate in the fray. There are 17 independent candidates.
Three tier security arrangement has been made at the venue. (UNI)
