JAMMU, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir Hindi Feature Film titled “KYU” got the most prestigious award for “Best Social Film” in the Karnataka International Film Festival held in Karnataka.
This was disclosed by producer and director of the Film, Jayesh Gupta (son of the soil), while addressing a press conference, here today. Gupta informed that firstly “KYU” got nominated among so many films which made their entries in the International Film Festival Festival and after few days it was awarded the best social film award.
He said “KYU” film is about the old age people and has a social message. It is because of the beautiful social message conveyed the Film that made the Jury to choose the Film for the best social film award. Gupta informed that the Film was short in Jammu and Kashmir and about 40% shooting was done alone in Amphalla Vridh Ashram and a whole-hearted support and cooperation was given from the administration of the Ashram for the shooting.
“Kyu” has been produced, edited, written and directed by Jayesh Gupta while JS Bali, Naresh Kumar Kesar, Rakesh Gupta, Nitesh Koul, Neelam Malviya and Chandni Khatri played lead roles in the Film. The film was appreciated by one and all at the Film Festival.
“This is a proud movement for us as well as J&K that such a prestigious award is given to our film which will inspire other film makers of the Union Territory,” Jayesh Gupta added.
